First Days

First days of SCHOOL!!!  A new school year has begun.  Crazy how fast summer flew by.  I forgot how exhausting teaching PE was.  All summer I didn't go to bed till 11.  The past two weeks (my first two weeks back to teaching) I have been in bed by 9pm EVERY NIGHT!  And a sad realization about my health...I wasn't really sick all summer long.  Doctors pretty much ruled out everything medical they could think of.  My symptoms were mild and I was loving that I could eat more.  Now that I am back in school...my symptoms have flared up really bad.  I can't eat without getting sick again.  So frustrating.  Working is the cause or I should say the stress of working added to the rest of my life is causing my symptoms.  I just don't know how to deal with stress!  But who really does?

I have started my 10th year of teaching...10 YEARS!!!!  Sorry no picture of me.

Kayzee has started her 2nd year of all day preschool but she is now going to a new school.  She is now going to Lehi High School.  I am so glad they started a preschool there because it is close to our house on the way to my school.  Kayzee is loving it and is making new friends.

Memphis is now officially in Kindergarten!  He is loving it.  He attends kindergarten at the school I teach at.  Freedom Elementary.  I teach at an amazing school with some amazing teachers and I am so lucky that my kids can attend with me.  It will be fun to have Memphis come to PE this year too.  It is so nice having him close by to peek in on.  His teacher is so good with him.  She is awesome!  The only annoying part is that kindergarten is only 1/2 day so I get to spend my lunch break driving him to day care a couple blocks away for the 2nd half of the day.  Oh well we are saving a lot of money that way!

YAY for School!

End of Summer!

After we returned home from our fun trip up to Washington to visit my family, the rest of July and August were full of fun.  We had so much fun that time went by way too fast.  School has officially started...ahhhhh...I am so behind so here is a catch-up of the rest of our fun summer!

CARNIVAL and BLOCK PARTY
We went to a fun carnival in a neighboring city with our friends.  Memphis and Kayzee LOVED all the rides.  It was hot but we beat the crowds and the long lines so it was worth it.

That night our neighborhood had a block party with a BBQ and fireworks.  What a great day!

PAINTING
I made a goal to paint my hallway this summer.  Memphis and Kayzee both went to a friend's house for the day so I got it all painted in one day.  I painted all the doors, walls, and trim the same color it was before.  It didn't cost me anything because the paint was left from the previous owners and I already had the supplies from doing the kid's rooms last summer.  A fresh coat of paint makes the hall look so much better!

CHRISTENSEN REUNION AND A BABY BLESSING
Danny's family on his mom's side had a family reunion.  It was fun to see everyone.  We got to learn about our ancestors and they had some fun activities.  I only got one picture during the reunion...
Danny got a piggy back ride from his younger sister and Memphis jumped on daddy.  Mary is strong!

The day after the reunion Danny's older sister blessed her new baby girl.  Baby #3 for the Allen family.  We had a picture taken of the current Royer family.  We are only missing one of Danny's brothers and his family.

PIONEER DAY
For pioneer day we bought a bunch of fireworks and it worked out great because our neighbor across the street had fireworks too so we had an even bigger show!  Danny's brother and sister were staying with us that weekend too.

BLANDING
We made a trip down to Blanding to visit and to go camping.  It was a fun weekend.

Hiking
Camping Devil's Canyon...I didn't sleep very well because a ranger came by and said bears were spotted in our campsite the night before but the kids had fun!

 Dinosaur Museum in Blanding

MUSEUMS and PARKS
We went to a lot of museums this summer.  The kids loved them all and we still have a couple more in Utah that we need to visit.

Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point with friends...

Discover Gateway Museum in Salt Lake City with friends...

We went to a lot of fun parks and splash pads with our ward park group and just for fun...

These beetles were everywhere at Discover Park and of course Danny had to play with them...I also met one of my old roommates from BYU with her kids at Discovery Park...so fun to catch up!

RANDOM FUN
I grew up making these yummy popcorn balls with my mom so I had to make them with my kids!
One day after church Kayzee came inside the house, laid down on the kitchen floor and fell right to sleep.  We tried moving her to the carpet to be more comfortable but she got up and laid down back on the kitchen floor.
 Memphis being silly

I got to go out to dinner with some friends/teachers at my school on my specialty team.  Love those ladies!!!

Memphis had been begging to go to a waterpark now that he can swim really well because he wanted to go down the water slides all by himself.  I didn't really want to go so Danny took him and I asked Kayzee what she wanted to do and she said play at mommy's school so we went and did that.  Fun little dates with our kids:)

Danny and I both got new callings in our ward.  Danny is the athletic rep for the ward and I am going to be an activity day leader for the girls 8-9 years old.  We are excited.

Last weekend Danny's family came to visit and surprised us and took the kids for a day.  Danny and I had a day to shop, relax, and go out to eat.  It was nice!!!  Thanks Grandma and aunties for entertaining our kiddies:)

Now school has officially started and Memphis has started soccer but I will post about all that another day!  Hope you all had a fun summer too:)
