How did I do on my 50-50-50 goal?
For those of you who don't know what my 50-50-50 goal was for 2012 it was...
Lose 50 lbs
Deep clean and de-clutter 50 sections of my home
Read 50 books
LOSING 50 LBS
Ya not so much. BUT I did lose 40 lbs!!! My overall goal is to lose 80 so I am half-way there. So my goal for 2013 is 40 lbs more. I feel like this year will be easier because I am already on the right track and I am sick of being fat. I don't feel well and I hate how clothes fit. Losing the 80 lbs will put me at the weight when I felt the most healthy and felt so good about my body. It was also where I was when I had lost that much weight before and when I first met Danny. Danny actually wants to lose 25 lbs this year so we are going to work out together every night. Hopefully that will help our marriage too.
I also mentioned my troubles with quitting drinking caffeinated drinks. Well...with some health issues (great motivator) I knew I needed to quit and so I actually did it. I have not had a single caffeinated drink since July 28th!!! I have not craved it (ok maybe a little...especially when someone else around me is drinking it) but I have been so good and it feels so good! Now I just drink a lot of crystal light (pomegranate is my new favorite flavor).
DEEP CLEANING AND DE-CLUTTERING 50 SECTIONS OF MY HOME
I did't make it to all 50 sections but I did deep clean 48 of them. The only 2 parts I didn't get to was in my laundry room. It feels good to get so much done but since I only deep-clean the parts once a year now they are getting dirty again so now I get to start over. Oh well, that's life with 2 kids and a husband:) I changed my cleaning routine for this year so I am excited to try it out. I will let you know how it goes. So far I am loving it.
READ 50 BOOKS
Reading a book a week was actually really hard even though I LOVE reading. Especially since some of the books were really long (like Inheritance and The Book of Mormon). I would get so busy with work, cleaning, playing with my kids, etc that books were the last thing I would do if I had extra time. I did start and finish 40 books though! I don't think I will set this goal again but I did get a lot of books for Christmas so I have plenty to read. I have 4 big book shelfs full of books now and want so many more books. Danny keeps wanting to get me a nook because we have no where to put another book shelf so we will see. I just love holding a real book. And I have to own every book I read I don't know why. Here is my list of the 40 books I read...
1-Inheritance by Paolini
2-A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard
3-Water for Elephants by Sarah Gruen
4-To Catch a Pirate by Jade Parker

Now for my 2013 goals...
In the October 2012 General Conference President Dieter F. Uchtdorf's talk "Of Regrets and Resolutions" was a talk that meant a lot to me. I have a lot of regrets in life especially with some bad decision I have made in my life but he is right. Why dwell on them when we can move forward and be better and happier especially if we follow our Savior Jesus Christ. So my 2013 goals come from his talk but I have changed them just a little to apply them to my own life...
1-Spend more time with my kids especially the days I work
2-Grow closer with my Heavenly Father and strive to be better at becoming the person he wants me to be especially in being a mother and raising my children in the Gospel
3-Be Happy no matter what circumstances I am in
And I am going to add
4-Follow my cleaning schedule
5-Cook more Healthy meals
6-Lose 40 more lbs
I CAN DO IT!

SNOW DAYS!
Last year was pitiful regarding a snowy winter. I bought them snow clothes and we only used them once. This year we have already had two really good snow storms. And their snow pants still fit from last year so that was a bonus! We definitely had a white Christmas and that is what I love the most about living in Utah. I never had that growing up in California. It snowed for a couple days and the snow is not melting so we have been out playing in it everyday so enjoy the pictures...
Rolling a snowman
Doing what Kayzee does best...looking cute
I told you in the last post that she loves penguins so I had to get the cute hat for her
And she loves eating snow
Bottom of the snowman almost ready
Making a snowball...Memphis loves snowball fights
Bottom of the snowman
Memphis was so excited that the snowman was going to be taller than him
Danny got a deer with his bow tag this year so he had to put the antlers on our snowman
Memphis called this our reindeer snowman
Our White Christmas...those footprints are from whoever door bell ditched our house with the 12 days of Christmas. THANKS whoever did that for us-we LOVED it!

Merry Christmas
We had a wonderful white Christmas this year at home. We really enjoyed staying home with just our family and not dealing with the hassles of traveling. We did get to see Danny's family the weekend before and we had fun shopping and hanging out with them.
At the beginning of December we had a family home evening of setting up the Christmas tree. Sorry the first picture is blurry but they have the cutest smiles:)

Christmas Eve morning we went to Cabelas and Danny bought some things with his gift card he got from work and we also bought a sled. Then we headed over to Pizza Pie Cafe for lunch. We had been trying to go there all month but the wait was too long every time. Going on Christmas Eve and getting there right when they opened was perfect. We were the only ones there for half an hour and they made any kind of pizza we wanted fresh. Then we went home and played games and watched Christmas movies. That night we did a tradition I grew up with. We ate cheese, crackers, meats, and soup by candlelight. Then we talked about Christ's birth and we read a children's story about it so the kids could follow along. We were going to open up their Christmas pajamas they get from my grandparents but because of the weather we never got them so we let them pick one present to open.
Memphis opened up this guitar. One thing we love about Memphis, the night we went to Thanksgiving Point to see the lights Memphis said, "Thank you so much for taking me to see the lights mommy. They were so beautiful!" He was so sincere.
Kayzee opened up this baby penguin from her aunties. Kayzee is obsessed with baby penguins right now. She got three for Christmas. She named this one baby Jesus:)
Christmas day was spent opening presents, playing with our new toys, and having a relaxing day. We made cinnamon rolls (Danny did an amazing job they were so yummy!). Our neighbors shoveled our driveway of snow so we took some over to them. And that night we had ham and church potatoes. Yummy fun day!
Christmas morning after Santa came!
Waiting to go downstairs to open presents
Danny's presents
Thanks everyone for the gifts
Aleena's presents
Thanks everyone I am excited for all of them
My wonderful hubby was so thoughtful and bought me a new digital camera. I had no idea!!!
Last year the kids took forever to open their presents because they just wanted to play forever with each one. This year they were so patient and they took turns with all of us and they watched each person open a present. They also wanted to know who each present was from and they would yell THANK YOU really loud and then the person's name. So everyone the kids say thank you really loud to each of you! Memphis would also say..."this is my favorite!" after EVERY present. He loves all his presents and so does Kayzee.
Memphis and his haul of presents
So spoiled and so loved.
New car track from Daddy
Kayzee's haul of presents
Kayzee also got this baby penguin from her daddy. This penguin moves and makes sounds and you can feed it a bottle. She feeds it all day:)
Yay...lots more girly toys...and Grandma Thorpe made the cute apron she is wearing.
Thanks for the aqua doodle mat Grandma and Grandpa Royer
Playing in her new princess tent from her mommy!
One present Memphis got from his aunties was a me reader. It reads stories to the kids as they follow along in the book. PERFECT for my kids who love to read stories. But we only have one reader and the kids fight over it so my sister Alicia is sending another one (for Memphis since his birthday is coming up soon) so they will each have their own. Thanks auntie Sheesha!
I saw this dancing wii game on a tv commercial. It was nick jr and had all my kids favorite nick jr cartoon charaters my kids love (Team Umi zoomi, bubble guppies, and Dora) so I had to buy it. They love to do zumba with me so I knew they would love to dance with this game even better. We are going to do it every day just me and the kids. Here they are dancing...Kayzee beat Memphis in a few of the dances!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE. It was fun to skype with our families. Hope you all had a wonderful day and can we believe it's almost 2013!?!
