January

We had a great start to celebrate the New Year 2019.  The Classic Fun Center has a balloon drop at 5pm on Dec 31 for kids so we went with our friends to celebrate and have some fun.  We went early so they could skate, play at the arcade, jump on all the blow up toys, and do some laser tag.

That night we stayed up late.  I was just going to pretend and celebrate the new year at 10 when the ball dropped in New York but my kids actually said they wanted to stay up till midnight to celebrate the new year and they made it!  We watched the fireworks that my neighbors set off and we banged some pots and pans, and had some martinelli's and then had a sleepover.  So fun to celebrate New Year's with the two loves of my life...my kids!

The next day (Jan 1) we went and played at Funtopia!

School started up again on Jan 3rd and life went back to our normal routine.  One thing that Kayzee was most excited about was her dad got a new puppy.  Kayzee has been begging me to get a puppy so I am glad she is getting one but at least it is not at my house and I don't have to take care of it.  I feel bad she doesn't get to see it very often though.

Kayzee has been taking drawing lessons and learning how to draw people on a tablet and on paper.  Here is one of her recent drawings.  She is getting so good!

I was so excited I wasn't sick during Christmas but then I went back to work and immediately got sick again.  Yet another sinus infection.  This one was really painful it hurt if anything touched my face and I had constant headaches.  This doctor decided to give me 3 antibiotics and a steroid.  Said it would really kill it and maybe I wouldn't get anymore.  Ha Ha nope!  I have another sinus infection right now only two weeks after finishing all those drugs.  Antibiotics just don't work on me anymore.  Time for the surgery I guess.

I have been so proud of myself trying to see if I can fix things around my house before I ask someone else for help.  So far I have fixed a broken fan, a toilet that would't flush, changed out a faucet that stopped working, and fixed my garage door (this one only temporarily until someone could fix it completely for me).  I got this single mom thing down!

It was my best friend's birthday and we went and tried an Escape Room with her family.  It was so fun.  It was harder than I thought it would be with a lot more puzzles to solve and we didn't make it out in time but now we know what to expect.

Our school celebrates the 100th day of school.  The younger grades do a lot of fun activities and Kayzee's teacher got an app that shows what the kids might look like when they are 100.  Here is Kayzee...

This is Kayzee's tumbling coach.  She is AMAZING!  I love watching her teach.  She was born deaf and blind in one eye with hip dysplasia who defeated all the odds and became a famous gymnast!  Me and Kayzee just finished reading her book about her life and it's fascinating how she chose to live with joy and a never give up attitude instead of letting her disabilities bring her down.  Definitely inspiring.  I had to have her sign her book for Kayzee!

On Jan 30 Memphis turned the big 10!!!!
Memphis has grown up a lot in the past year.  Karate has been the best thing for him helping with his focus and self-discipline his grades are up and his test scores went up instead of down like in the past.  I am so proud of him.  He still struggles with anxiety and OCD and hopefully soon we can get him a new therapist but he has a big heart and I love how much he cares about me.  He makes sure I am ok and I heard him tell someone he never wants to leave me because I am all alone and he wants to take care of me.  I love his big hugs!

He got to celebrate for a few days and he got the gift he has always wanted (Nintendo Switch!) so he was one happy kid! Happiest of Birthdays Memphis!  LOVE YOU!
