April

I didn't think life could get any more crazy but it did.  Some of it was my doing but a lot of what has happened has just fell on us all at the same time.  It has truly been so hard and I have cried myself to sleep a lot or have spent a lot of sleepless nights worried and stressed out.   I pray a lot that the craziness dies down a little so I can get some sleep and feel more confident about life but I am learning that it may take a long time.  I am definitely learning patience.  I am so behind on my blog so here goes trying to catch up a little.

Birthday week + spring break = best week ever! Thanks to my bestest friends and family for helping me celebrate. It was a busy but awesome week. Dinner and amazing dessert at Last Course along with a movie and talking till 2am with two of my bestest friends. Pedicures with my best friend. Park and dinner with my cousin and her family. My mom got me and my kids a hotel room with a pool for a night. My sis-in-law took my kids swimming so I could take a nap and read a book. Tradition of Brickoven Pizza. Movie date with my kids. Shopping and more yummy food with my kids. And lunch with another of my bestest friends. I didn't want the week to end!

We spent the last couple days of spring break doing some spring cleaning in each of our bedrooms so we needed a much needed fun day before we went back to school on Monday. We spent 4 hours at Classic Fun Center. Jumping, skating, laser tag, arcade, whew! Found a book store that I should never have stepped foot in ha ha. I spent way too much time and money in there. And Eelina? I have seen my name misspelled many different ways but this one takes the cake!

Memphis had another belt promotion and moved up to the Orange belt level---Intermediate Juniors.  Way to go Memphis!
I don't have a picture of this girl doing her tumbling but she also moved up to the intermediate level in Tumbling.  Way to go Kayzee!

Another month, another sinus infection, another antibiotic.  Lovely.  Averaging one a month.
Yes, we experienced the crazy utah weather throughout April.

Easter!  First they had to go on a scavenger hunt to find their new switch games. I had them running all over the house, up and down the stairs, over and over-great workout ha ha! Then we all searched for our Easter baskets. Happy Easter!

Took the day off to go with my Memphis on his 4th grade field trip. We went to This Is The Place Heritage Park. I learned a lot of new things about Utah history but the best part was spending time with this sweet boy of mine.

Took another day off (lucky me) and went with my Kayzee on her 2nd grade field trip. We went to the Bean Museum at BYU and Rock Canyon Park. I am so grateful I can take time to go do these fun things with my kids.

Kayzee had her 2nd grade Lemonade play.  Fun songs!

Memphis had his 4th grade All About Utah history program.  Memphis had fun singing the songs.

April blew by.  May went even faster.  Will try to catch up on that soon!

February and March

So behind as usual.  Can't believe it's already the middle of April.  School is almost over!  Can't wait for summer.  Here is our February and March...

Kayzee LOVES Puppy Barn.  It's a place you can go to pet and hold puppies.  Puppy heaven.  And there is one by where the kids go to karate and tumbling so we go a lot.  It keeps Kayzee from asking if she can get a puppy everyday.  Well, sort of ha ha.  Maybe it makes her want one even more.  Her dad had to get rid of his puppy.  Sorry Kayzee.  And I can't afford thousand dollar puppies.  Enjoy your play time.

The kids were easy this year and let me just buy them a $2 valentine box making kit.  They had fun putting them together.

Kayzee loves llamas right now...
 Memphis still loves space...
Happy Valentine's Day 2019.  These two are my EVERYTHING!
 And they keep me laughing...
Memphis got a bunch of robotic building kits for Christmas.  Here is one of them he finished in February.
Kayzee has been practicing her drawing skills and she is getting so good!  I haven't drawn in years so we decided to draw together one night.  Top right is the picture we chose to draw.  The bottom left is my rendition of it and the bottom right is Kayzee's!  We love art!
One week in March it was Teacher Appreciation Week.  The mom that decorated my door this year did an awesome job!  This years theme was about Superheroes.  Teachers really are SUPERHEROES!
Winter sick season hit our house.  Kayzee was so sick and was having trouble breathing so I rushed her in.  She tested negative for strep and the flu so they diagnosed her with croup.  They gave her a steroid and prescribed Tamiflu just to play it safe.  After a couple days she was back to normal.  So glad it wasn't the flu like last year.  Memphis got a really high fever and was throwing up for four days.  No fun!  Then he got the worse cough.  He stayed home from school the week he was throwing up but then I didn't want him to miss anymore school because he is already struggling.  But his cough was so bad it was too distracting in his class so he just stayed in my office and made up all his missing assignments and did all the work for that week.  Rough but we survived.  Have been finding out some things about my sweet Memphis from his teacher and the school psychologist.  We are working with his pediatrician, a pediatric psychologist and a therapist.  It's been overwhelming and we are still figuring everything out.  More on that later.  I luckily didn't get as sick as my kiddos, I just got my usual monthly sinus infections.  Too scared to have sinus surgery but if it means I won't be sick all the time maybe it's what I need.

Now on to surviving the last weeks of the school year!

January

We had a great start to celebrate the New Year 2019.  The Classic Fun Center has a balloon drop at 5pm on Dec 31 for kids so we went with our friends to celebrate and have some fun.  We went early so they could skate, play at the arcade, jump on all the blow up toys, and do some laser tag.

That night we stayed up late.  I was just going to pretend and celebrate the new year at 10 when the ball dropped in New York but my kids actually said they wanted to stay up till midnight to celebrate the new year and they made it!  We watched the fireworks that my neighbors set off and we banged some pots and pans, and had some martinelli's and then had a sleepover.  So fun to celebrate New Year's with the two loves of my life...my kids!

The next day (Jan 1) we went and played at Funtopia!

School started up again on Jan 3rd and life went back to our normal routine.  One thing that Kayzee was most excited about was her dad got a new puppy.  Kayzee has been begging me to get a puppy so I am glad she is getting one but at least it is not at my house and I don't have to take care of it.  I feel bad she doesn't get to see it very often though.

Kayzee has been taking drawing lessons and learning how to draw people on a tablet and on paper.  Here is one of her recent drawings.  She is getting so good!

I was so excited I wasn't sick during Christmas but then I went back to work and immediately got sick again.  Yet another sinus infection.  This one was really painful it hurt if anything touched my face and I had constant headaches.  This doctor decided to give me 3 antibiotics and a steroid.  Said it would really kill it and maybe I wouldn't get anymore.  Ha Ha nope!  I have another sinus infection right now only two weeks after finishing all those drugs.  Antibiotics just don't work on me anymore.  Time for the surgery I guess.

I have been so proud of myself trying to see if I can fix things around my house before I ask someone else for help.  So far I have fixed a broken fan, a toilet that would't flush, changed out a faucet that stopped working, and fixed my garage door (this one only temporarily until someone could fix it completely for me).  I got this single mom thing down!

It was my best friend's birthday and we went and tried an Escape Room with her family.  It was so fun.  It was harder than I thought it would be with a lot more puzzles to solve and we didn't make it out in time but now we know what to expect.

Our school celebrates the 100th day of school.  The younger grades do a lot of fun activities and Kayzee's teacher got an app that shows what the kids might look like when they are 100.  Here is Kayzee...

This is Kayzee's tumbling coach.  She is AMAZING!  I love watching her teach.  She was born deaf and blind in one eye with hip dysplasia who defeated all the odds and became a famous gymnast!  Me and Kayzee just finished reading her book about her life and it's fascinating how she chose to live with joy and a never give up attitude instead of letting her disabilities bring her down.  Definitely inspiring.  I had to have her sign her book for Kayzee!

On Jan 30 Memphis turned the big 10!!!!
Memphis has grown up a lot in the past year.  Karate has been the best thing for him helping with his focus and self-discipline his grades are up and his test scores went up instead of down like in the past.  I am so proud of him.  He still struggles with anxiety and OCD and hopefully soon we can get him a new therapist but he has a big heart and I love how much he cares about me.  He makes sure I am ok and I heard him tell someone he never wants to leave me because I am all alone and he wants to take care of me.  I love his big hugs!

He got to celebrate for a few days and he got the gift he has always wanted (Nintendo Switch!) so he was one happy kid! Happiest of Birthdays Memphis!  LOVE YOU!
