KISSING and PACKING!

KISSING
I just had to share how Memphis gives kisses right now cause it is too cute. I will say, "Can you give Mommy a kiss?" and then he will place his finger on my cheek and make a kissing sound. Not really a kiss but sure creative.

PACKING
We have been busy packing to move into our new house tomorrow. Memphis sure loves the
mazes of boxes in our house and especially loves the empty ones to play in. I have been trying to get Memphis to help me pack and put things in the boxes but ya right! All he wants to do is take the stuff out!

THE TINIEST TOUCH:)

I was sitting on the couch today CRYING because I was stressing about everything going on (strep throat, school musical performances all week, packing to move sat, sick baby, being pregnant, 1,000 health papers to grade...)

Well, Memphis came over, climbed into my lap, said "Momma" and then with his tiny little finger he WIPED AWAY MY TEARS.  The TINIEST TOUCH cures all even if it is just for a MOMENT it is a moment to REMEMBER.  I love you Memphis!!!

BABY #2 and NEW HOME!!!

Just had my first Dr. appointment for baby #2.   Expected arrival date is Sept 12.  Bad planning on my part with my teaching job but oh well we are excited:)  The baby is already measuring a week bigger so maybe it will come early like Memphis.

Had our home inspection on Monday and it went really well.  There were no major concerns and the home inspector says it looks like a great house:)  That made us feel better about our decision and we will probably be moving in on Feb 27!!!  Now to packing...

ONE YEAR CHECK-UP!

Memphis had his well-baby check-up on Monday and he is one healthy little boy.  He now weighs 23 lbs. which actually is average for his age and he is 31 1/2 in. tall which is above-average.  He may be tall but he got the short Royer legs (yes I blame his dad:) so he wears a size smaller in pants than his shirts.  The doctor cleared him to eat anything now so we let him try fish and peanut butter yesterday and he LOVES them!!!  He has had a rough couple of days and nights because he got some new shots but he is just getting smarter and cuter everyday!  I am trying to wean him off the bottle and I thought it would be easy like the binky but no.  It is harder than I thought.  Any ideas?  Here Memphis is riding his first four-wheeler-all by himself:)

We got the call today that everything with the house we were under contract with is ready to go so we are getting the inspection done and hopefully it clears and we can move in the 27th of this month!!!  Can't wait!

I am busy with teaching and finishing the final touches on our school musical "Willy Wonka."  It is a lot of work and I hope the kids get into gear so we are ready for performances at the end of this month.

Danny had his last church basketball game tonight before the tournament.  He is also going to start working every Fri in Price.  I am sure Memphis will miss hanging out with his daddy all day but it is what is needed at this time to pay off Danny's kidney stone emergency room bills and his new tool box.

I find out on Tue what the due date for our baby is going to be so I will update you soon:)

Miss our families!!!

NEW YEAR and SNOW TIME FUN!

Happy New Year everyone!!!  I still can't believe it is 2010.  I was so tired being up all night with Memphis the night before New Years so me and Danny slept through the start of the new year.  I woke up at 12:05 am and just rolled over and went back to sleep.  I am back to teaching but am now really sick with a high fever and chills.  It is no fun.  Danny is having fun snowboarding with his friend Clint.  Memphis had another accident but everyone tells me that he will have many as he continues to walk.  He was at Day Care and walking with his bottle in his mouth.  As he was walking into the kitchen he tripped.  He ended up with a cut bottom lip, a swollen top lip, a bloody nose, and one of his top teeth was pushed back up into his gums a little.  The gums around it were swollen, bruised and bloody for about 3 days but now it is looking back to normal.  YAY!  And of course it didn't phase him.  He was up and running around again.
Memphis is getting really good at communicating what he wants.  He will bring me his little containers of snacks if he is hungry.  He will bring me his bottle or sippy cup if he is thirsty, and he will bring me a diaper if he is sick of being in a wet one.  He still loves music and is always dancing and running around.  Certainly keeps me on my toes.  He loves to climb too and turning on our stereo full blast.  We finally put the baby proof latches on our kitchen cupboards because that became one of his new places to play.  He is so mad at us because he can't get into anything anymore.  He always gives us these dirty faces when he tries to open one.
I took Memphis out in the snow last week and took some cute pictures.  He sure loved the snow especially getting to finally just play in it and trying to eat it.  Here are the pics...

CRAZY CHRISTMAS VACATION!!!

We had a wonderful yet crazy, hectic, wild trip to spend Christmas with my family in Woodinville, Washington. We were going to leave for the airport on Wednesday in plenty of time but Memphis pulled a heavy glass cereal bowl off the arm of the couch and it fell and hit him hard in the forehead and he got a huge goose-egg bump and bruise. I started getting worried because he would not stop crying so I called the pediatrician and they just said to give him some tylenol and put ice on it. I felt so bad but he ended up being ok. We then hurried to the bank and gas station and then remembered we forgot some stuff and a binky for Memphis (which he never actually used cause he doesn't like binky's anymore)
so we got to the airport at 5 and our flight was scheduled to leave at 5:55. There was a really long line to check-in so I worried we wouldn't
make it to the gate in time but luckily the line went fast. While waiting
in line I remembered I forgot Memphis's birth certificate to prove he was under 2 years old so he could fly for free. I hassled with them and they believed me that he looked under 2 so they let
him go. We hurried over to security and luckily there was no line. As we were going through Danny kept beeping and he had to keep removing stuff. Then they told us they needed to look
through his bag because of something suspicious. They
started to pull everything out and
really search so I grabbed Memphis and the rest of our stuff to hurry to our gate because we were at the far end and it was almost time to leave. While I was walking to the gate,
dropping everything (except Memphis), strangers trying to help me, Danny text me and told
me they found a .22 bullet in his bag and he had to go to jail overnight. Ha ha Danny not funny.
They just had him sign a bunch of paperwork, they
confiscated the bullet, and we got to the gate as they were boarding. It was not a full flight so Memphis got his own seat and was really good :) We got to my parent's house and then I realized that we forgot a bag at home with all our toiletry stuff so my mom went and found a
store open at 10:30 at night so we could have toothbrushes and baby tylenol.
Christmas Eve we spent at my cousin's house with all my relatives. We had a great dinner, opened presents, and had fun visiting. We dressed up Memphis in his new Santa outfit his aunt Alicia bought him. He didn't like wearing the hat that is why he looks sad.
Christmas Day we all slept in and then opened presents. Memphis is still too young to understand presents and opening the wrapping paper but he had fun playing with his new toys. Memphis got really good at going up stairs but not necessarily going down them. He al
so had fun playing peek-a-boo in the curtains with his grandpa Thorpe.
Saturday we all just relaxed which was nice. Then we went to a movie. Since we didn't know anyone that lived near my parents and all my relatives lived too far away we took Memphis to my parent's bishop's house while we went to the movie. His wife and 5 daughters loved him and I am sure he had fun with all the attention:) After the movie about 10:30pm I was really hyper (don't know why) and my brother Chris and Danny kept making me laugh and while I was trying to run to the bathroom I mis-stepped the edge of the sidewalk in front of the house and rolled my ankle really bad. I was in a lot of pain and could not walk so I went to bed with ice. I just kept wondering how I was going to get through the airport not being able to walk. Well, I woke up and could hobble around ok even though I was slow.
Sunday there were no lines at the airport, they did not even ask to look at Memphis's birth certificate and Memphis got his own seat again and slept the whole way back to Utah. The day was going better than when we left or so I thought. When we got to the parking lot at the airport a tire on my SUV was flat! So, we had to change the flat tire at 8pm in 10 degree weather when all we wanted to do was be on our way home.
The fun does not stop there. When we got home we noticed that our bedroom was colder than the rest of the house didn't think anything of it though and just bundled up in blankets. The next night the room was too cold so we looked around and found out that the window had many cracks in it. So we slept in the living room cause it was too late to go upstairs to tell our landlord about it. I slept on the couch and my husband slept on the floor. The next day I went up to tell our landlords and found out that they were actually out of town and wouldn't be back till the next day if they could make it in the bad weather. So we are sleeping in the living room again.
Normally I think I would just stress and cry and not handle any of this very well but I was able to just laugh and have fun and relax! It made it all bearable and makes for a great story. Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!!
