At the beginning of March the weather turned really warm for a couple days so we went to the park a lot! Today it's snowing but we will take our crazy weather any day. We love our neighborhood and the park that is so close!
In my last post I posted all our family pics that we had done. While we were waiting I took a few pics and I had to post them. Love my family...
We had a weekend visit from Grandma Royer and Danny's brother with his wife and baby Max. We always love having family come visit. Kayzee got her baby fix again!
I did my nails for St. Patrick's Day
I am keeping up with my reading goal and I am one book ahead of schedule. I have read 25 so far!!! Being sick I have been reading a lot. I finally convinced Danny to try the 21 day fix eating plan with me. He is on a fitness kick right now and I am excited. Hopefully it sticks so he can help motivate me once I get over this sickness. I taught him how the program works and he was kinda annoyed with how much work it takes but it is worth it! I got sick and didn't stick to it but he did and he surprised me and is doing it all on his own this week. GO DANNY! He is losing weight so he knows it is working.
Kayzee and I also got new haircuts. I did my usual birthday hairstyle I do every year.
Kayzee's hair had gotten so long it tangled within 30 minutes of brushing it. It took at least an hour to comb it every night if I wanted to really do it well. I finally got the guts to cut off all her beautiful hair and Kayzee saw my cute new short hair so she agreed to cut it all off. 12 inches!!! My friend Steph did a cute a-line style. LOVE IT! She looks so grown up now. So glad we did it. It styles itself and I barely have to do anything to it.
I was kicked out of my gym for 3 days while they were putting in a new sound system. The weather looked beautiful but it was FREEZING! This was my view all day every day for 3 days...
Memphis and our friend Kate at recess! Love having my Memphis at the same school as me!
I blame getting sick on being forced outside for 5 straight hours in freezing temperatures for 3 whole days. And being a teacher around germ infested kids during winter just added fuel to the fire. Friday the 11th was the first day I started feeling sick. Thought I had a bad cold and wanted to stay home but they couldn't find me a sub so I had to work. I just kept getting worse as the day went on. Taught PE from a chair I couldn't move. Weekend got worse and Danny got sick too so Monday I took the kids to school and Danny and I slept all day. Danny got worse I felt a little better but still a bad cold and still no subs Tuesday-Thursday (district wide training) so I went to work. Danny stayed home all week. Thursday night Kayzee was up all night with a fever and painful sore throat. Miraculously I actually found a sub everyone said I was lucky so I stayed home to try and get some rest with Kayzee. Kayzee cried all day her sore throat hurt so bad and she had a high fever so that night we took her in to the dr. They ruled out strep and said there was nothing they could do. Friday night she was up all night with croup! Miserable night of coughing and not being able to breathe I just cuddled with her all night switching between outside, hot steamy bathroom, and humidifier. This lasted 3 nights and during all this I started getting worse again. Not sleeping and being around a very sick kid will do that do you.
Memphis threw up and had a fever one of those nights so he missed a couple days of school but he has been fine ever since. YAY. Danny got better so he had been back to work all week. Kayzee and I just kept getting worse. I couldn't breathe and my coughing was making me choke and I had a fever. I had missed work all week and by Wednesday we were still not better actually worse so Kayzee and I went back to the dr. I told him I had been sick since the 11th and getting worse and Kayzee had her croup all weekend. He took a look at Kayzee and she had an ear infection and a bad cough still so he gave her some antibiotics. I was having trouble breathing there so they gave me a breathing treatment and then took x-rays. Diagnosis: Pneumonia!!! With a sinus infection which is making my teeth hurt and making me really dizzy still. Dr put me on a steroid, an antibiotic, an inhaler, and a cough medicine with sleep aid. He also excused me from work through Friday and said I could go back to work yesterday (Monday) if I felt up to it. I felt like the medications were working but by Sunday I was still so dizzy and couldn't breathe.
I tried going back to work yesterday figuring it was early out day I would see how I did. Bad idea!!! Dr warned me my immune system would be down and I probably wouldn't feel better for at least another week so I finally decided last night to take the rest of the week off to get 100% better. No point in trying to go back to normal when my body can't and taking the chance of getting worse! I am really frustrated that my body chose this last week to miss work. It was teacher appreciation week and I missed all the fun and yummy lunches and treats. Such a bummer cause I know the PTA went all out this year. We have been so blessed though with wonderful friends, ward members, neighbors bringing us meals. It has helped so much. I have literally been stuck in bed and Danny works such long hours the meals have been wonderful. They brought us so much food we have had plenty of leftovers we are still eating them.
Easter was nice this year besides being so sick. Friday I took both kids to school so I could finally sleep and rest up without being interrupted by kids and that night Danny took the kids to our neighborhood easter party. My neighbors are so wonderful and put on a great party and planned a huge egg hunt and BBQ. The kids had fun and I am glad Danny could take them.
Saturday part of my family on my Mom's side that lives south of us had an easter party and it has been so long since we have seen all my cousin's and their families and my aunt and uncle so we decided to go. I just wanted to get out of the house for a little bit! It was fun with lunch, egg dying, and an egg hunt. It is always good to see family too!
Sunday the kids had to find their easter baskets that the easter bunny hid (they love it:) and we made cookies for all the families that brought us dinner.
I still couldn't breathe and I was so dizzy but I really wanted to go to Sacrament Meeting to hear my kids sing "Gethsemane" with sign language (beautiful song) and I was playing a piano duet for Easter. Had to lay my head on Danny's shoulder the whole time but I am so glad I went. My kids singing that song totally made my day. Danny kept the kids for the rest of church and I went home and took a nap! The kids got kites in their easter baskets so Danny took them out to fly them after church.
I am glad I could get a sub for the next few days so I can really rest up and get 100% better because I leave for California on Sunday! I am so excited to finally hold my sister's little baby Max. He just keeps getting cuter and cuter I hate that we live so far away from each other! I am going to end this post with pictures of Max and I love how my sister dresses him up for all the holidays:)
