We woke up at 5am and got on the road by 6am so we could get to Legoland by the time we could check in to the hotel at 4pm. The 10 hour drive was so nice compared to 14 when we drive up to Washington. And we didn't hit traffic till California (of course). So glad we splurged and paid for one expensive night at the Legoland Hotel. They have a lot of fun entertainment and fun activities for the kids. Their free breakfast buffet was delicious and you get a early entrance button into the park which is right outside the hotel so it was worth the extra money! Early entrance was so nice because you could get in an hour earlier than the public so there was no lines on the rides that they would open up early. Yes!
Entrance to the Legoland Hotel...look at Kayzee jump!
Legoland Hotel Lobby
Whoopie Cushion (Memphis' favorite part of the whole trip ha ha!)
The elevator had a disco ball and music
We got the pirate room...kids got a bunk bed
Our view from our room
Pirate show
We rode the elevator every time so we could have a dance party!
In our room they had a treasure box but to unlock it the kids had to go on a scavenger hunt and find the answers to some questions all over the hotel. The answers were the code to open it.
They figured it out and they got their prize...their own lego set!
They had a room with music and lights just a big dance party room. Memphis loved it!
Swimming pool!
More dancing...couldn't Memphis to leave
The next morning we got our free breakfast buffet and then had to check out of the hotel so we put everything in our van and then headed over to LEGOLAND!!! We got up early so we could do the early entrance.
Legoland is divided up into different theme parks so first we headed over to Explorer Island
Dinosaur roller coaster. No lines so they let us stay on a few times in a row and we got the front row!
We went on a safari and saw a lot of different animals made out of legos. COOL!
We went on a fairy tale boat ride.
Next we headed over to Lego Friends Heartlake City. This was Kayzee's favorite part of the whole vacation...
Then we went to Funtown
This kid power tower you had a partner and you had to pull yourselves up by a rope to the top while strapped in a chair and then you let go and it dropped you.
The kids took driving lessons and then got their license to drive in this little town.
Rescue helicopters
Found Memphis just talking away to this lego man
Firefighter mission
Drive the firetruck to the burning buildings (raced against other families)
Put out the fire the fastest and then drive back to the start. We beat everyone!!!
We went on an adventure to find some missing keys.
Boat ride...
We were walking back through the park to go back to the entrance to go to the aquarium and Kayzee saw some Lego friends and had to have a picture with them.
Best deal for Legoland is the 3 day hopper pass you get to go to all 3 parks they have anytime the 3 days you are there. They have the Legoland Theme park (where we started) an aquarium, and a water park. We did a little less then 1/2 of Legoland and then decided to go the aquarium to get out of the sun.
Then we walked to the van and ate lunch...so glad we brought food for lunches every day, and then Danny had to go golfing. There was a golf course across the street from Legoland so he left to go do that and I walked back into the park to do some more stuff with the kids.
We went back to Lego Friends Heartlake City because Kayzee wanted to see the Lego friends show. They had a splash pad and it was hot so the kids enjoyed that!
Lego Friends show...
Kayzee was in love. She was up there singing and dancing along:)
Next we headed over to Lego Ninjago world.
They had a fun 3D ride where you try to blast the evil Lego ninjas. Memphis beat us all.
Kayzee loves Unicorns. Had to have a picture of course:)
Next we went to the Imagination Zone.
They got to build a city and then hit a button that activated an earthquake to see if their buildings stayed up.
They also built lego cars and had races to see who built the fastest one!
Danny came back from golfing and we went on a boat tour. There were some cool lego designs. Billions of legos and months of work to put them together. Crazy!
We went on a few more ridesThere was a pizza buffet and that night kids ate free so we went there for dinner and then went on a really crazy roller coaster. I couldn't stop screaming, the turns were scary Danny and Memphis just laughed at me. When we stopped we looked over and Kayzee was just bawling. Didn't realize she was so scared but once we got off she wanted to go again. We decided to go on it again another day.
After our first day at Legoland I had 800 move calories burned, we walked 7 miles, and had 16,000 steps we were all soooooo tired! And we still had 2 more days to go! That night we drove over to our new hotel and realized it was literally across the street from Legoland so we were excited we could just walk over and not have to pay for parking.
We stayed at the Grand Palisades Hotel and Resort. It was really nice and it had two pools. The pool for families also had a splash pad for kids. They loved it!
This is the adult pool. You can see the ocean in the back ground. It was so beautiful!
Back to Legoland Day 2!
We heard from friends that Pirates Cove has really long lines later in the day because they are rides where you get wet and people want to cool off so we just decided to go straight there first thing in the morning. Best tip ever because there were no lines at all.
This ride you get SOAKED!!! There were no lines and they let us stay on and keep going over and over. The kids loved it.
Like I said...SOAKED!
You could also stand on the bridge over the boat when it came splashing down and get even more wet.
So wet!
Day 2 after we were already soaking wet we headed over to the water park! The water park also had themed parts so it was fun to walk around and try them all. This first park at water slides. Some individual and one for the whole family to go down on a big tube.
Lazy river was nice
Pirate section
Lego Chima part had a playground water area and a wave pool
You could build lego boats and race them
Wave pool
We were so good at keeping sunscreen on all of us throughout the day until about 2pm. Then Danny and I forgot to put sunscreen on ourselves and we got BURNT!!! Our shoulders were so bad we could't sleep that night. It was an awful painful itchy 2 weeks after that until we finally felt back to normal. Ugh. And combine that with our sore achy feet from walking so much each day it was exhausting. We just laid in the pool at the end of each day.
Walking back to our hotel at the end of day 2...
Day 3 we went back on the dinosaur roller coaster and took Danny on the Ninjago ride since he missed it while he was golfing then we finished up going to all the sections of Legoland we hadn't gone to yet...
Land of Adventure
This ride you got to shoot targets and make different parts of the ride come to life.
Playground where you got to shoot people with foam balls
Some more rides...
Castle Hill...Dragon roller coaster was fun! We went on it twice...
Big fun Playground for the kids. Danny took a nap under a tree:)
Lego Miniland USA
San Francisco
Legowood
New Orleans
New York
Las Vegas
Washington DC
Lego Star Wars
Back to Castle Hill...
They had the craziest ride where you sat in a chair and got flipped around and upside down. It was our favorite ride except that whenever we were upside down my shoulders would slide down to the top of the arm bars and my sunburn hurt so bad!!!!
Kayzee was barely tall enough for his ride so she had to wear shoulder pads so she fit better.
As we walked back to the entrance we went on a few of our favorite rides and the roller coaster and this time Kayzee didn't cry. We also went to a 4D Lego movie show. Memphis screamed the first time because he didn't want to go but then he loved it and had to see it twice. Silly kids!
Last day as we were leaving they have a big Lego store and we let the kids pick out a lego set.
WE LOVED LEGOLAND!!!!
Being so close to the ocean I HAD TO GO! It was only a 5 minute drive from our hotel. The Pacific Ocean is my favorite having grown up in California. So glad we made time to go. It was beautiful.
The kids loved splashing in the waves
Feet in the sand
and the waves
Danny took the kids out as far as they wanted to go
So sad to leave but so glad we went. Best vacation ever!
