Hello Summer!

We have had a great start to our summer.  We are definitely keeping busy!  We have gone to a lot of parks all over the different cities by us.  My kids are still enjoying them but soon they will outgrow them so we better keep going while we can!  We also have gone swimming a lot at Danny's sister's apartment pool.  Auntie Nita taught Kazyee how to swim so now both my kids are pros at swimming.  YAY!

A new splash pad/park opened up a couple cities away.  We had to try it!  It is so fun...

Memphis' baseball machine pitch season is still going.  He is doing awesome!  Every time he is up to bat he gets a hit!  In the outfield he loves to be the catcher.  Danny and I still love coaching the team.  They are great!

Memphis even hit a home run!  We celebrated with ice cream cones after:)
One week I had to work.  Grandma Royer came up to stay with the kids so they had fun!  I did a collaboration day with my team and we worked on integrating the literacy curriculum from each grade level into our specialty curriculums.
I also got to go to an arts conference.  It was so much fun.  I spent 2 days dancing and playing music.  I also learned how to better integrate the arts into the core curriculums.  The Arts ROCK!
Me and the kids did our annual June trip to Bear Lake.  We love the Ideal Beach Resort!!!  The lake was so full it was a lot nicer that it was closer to our motel room.  This is the view from our front door.  Last year it took 5 minutes to walk all the way out to where the lake was it was so low.  This year it only took 12 seconds!
Right outside our doors was some fun swings and hammocks under some trees.  Nice place to relax.

We went to the two pools at our resort a lot!  I guess we chose the right days to go because we had the pools to ourselves most of the time.  It was awesome!

My kids were obsessed with the diving board this year.  Since both can swim it was nice that I could swim laps, swim with the kids, or just relax in a chair while my kids played.

We also played at the park...

Played some chess, they made up their own rules:)
We always have to stop by La Beau's to eat!
My most favorite thing to do...read by a beach!  My happy place for sure!
My kids love the arts and crafts center.  We go their a lot to do different crafts.

 Mini golf too!

Kayzee surprised me and went off the diving board into the 9 foot deep end all by herself, swam to the side and did this over and over.  Go Kayzee!
Memphis tried different stunts off the diving board.  There was some teenage boys there and they thought he was so cool!

He started doing front flips too.

 And diving into rings
We spent one day at the lake.  It was HOT!

A massive wind storm blew through it was crazy!
During the wind storm we went to the pool because no one was there!
 After the storm.  So pretty!
We had to have one adventure while we were there right?!?  And of course it was on our last day when we were trying to leave.  The van was locked and instead of unlocking the entire van like I usually do I just pushed the button to unlock the back trunk door so we could load all our stuff.  I set my keys down in one of the bags (usually put them in my purse) and put all the bags in the back of the van and then pushed the button for the trunk door to close.  As soon as the door clicked shut I just knew my keys were in the back and the van was locked.  OOPS.  My cousins were there so I asked my cousin if he could break in to my van.  A maintenance man at the resort came over to help too.  They couldn't break in (probably a good thing) so I called the police.  They don't unlock cars anymore in Garden City.  It was going to cost $150 for a locksmith in Garden City to come unlock the door and I didn't want to pay that so I called my car insurance company and they said I had free roadside assistance.  It was free for them to send someone but they had to send someone from my plan and of course they were far away.  It took 3 hours from the time I locked my keys in the car till someone came to my rescue and of course it only took him like 5 seconds to open my door.  Argh!  I definitely learned my lesson.  While we waited and since all our stuff was in the car I took the kids for some ice cream and to the arts and crafts center again to pass the time.  And of course the canyon we need to drive through was flooding so we got stuck and then because it was later in the day during rush hour the freeway home was so slow.  What was supposed to be a 3 hour drive took 6.  Let's just say I was glad to be home safe.
Danny always has a week in June that we celebrate 3 holidays about him!  Father's day was on the Sunday that week, Wednesday was our 9th wedding anniversary and then Saturday was his 30th birthday!  We love Danny and are so glad he is in our lives.  For Father's Day we went to Olive Garden.  For our anniversary we went on a date to Buffalo Wild Wings and went shopping.  And for his birthday we had a BBQ with family and of course he went golfing a lot!  Now that he is finally in his 30's I don't feel so old;)

My kids love the Discovery Gateway Museum in Salt Lake so we went there one day.  They spent 5 hours playing!  Their favorite part was the new race car track where you build your own cars out of legos and race them.

Kayzee LOVES art (got that talent from both sides of the family!) and so does her friend.  His mom is my best friend so we decided it would be fun to go on a double date to Color Me Mine.  Fun night!
Kayzee has been playing a lot at all her friend's houses from school so me and Memphis have been going on dates together.  I just love spending time with my Memphis!  So far we have done laser tag, and arcade, a park, and lunch.  In August Memphis has summer school so I will take Kayzee out on some dates!
My kids like to go to the University Mall.  They have a fun new indoor/outdoor playground...
They also love the virtual reality store.  Kayzee is petting a dog!
Memphis is blowing up and popping balloons!
We also played at Kangaroo Zoo.  They love all the blow up bouncy houses and slides...

As you can tell we have had a busy yet super fun start to summer and July will be just as great!  I just wish it wouldn't go by so fast...
